Family Sports and Fun Day ….. Great Success
The BRA Family Sports and Fun Day 2015 was held on Saturday 20th June and was a great success. The large attendance took full advantage of the beautiful warm sunny day and ventured down to the Coolgreena Close Park to enjoy a great bit of fun and games.
Lots of Fun on the Bouncy Castle
This year we had the largest number of children attending for many years and they brought their Mammies and Daddies along. Lots of medals were won in the different age races. The relay race with Parents and Children taking part was very exciting and a big hit. The ‘penalty shoot-out’ attrached big interest for even the smallest boys and girls -and some new footballing talent was discovered on the day.
The Bar-B-Q was operated at full capacity by ‘chef for the day’ Joe Roche. The big tasty
Burgers, generously suppliied by Byrnes Butchers were snapped off the grill as fast as Joe could cook. Equally popular and tasty were the super special Hot Dogs also supplied by our great Sponsors; Byrnes Butchers. The Byrne Boys certainly know their beef. Northside Bouncy Castles supplied the bouncy castles to BRA on very competitive terms and owner Michael Redmond provided great service on the day.
The success of the day can be attributed to very considerabe planning and organisation which commences 3 months before the event. Cecilia Roche was this years Event Manager and was assisted by Joan Ennis. Their efforts generated the desired results on the day. Special THANKS to all the Helpers on the day. Particular THANKS must go to the super Helpers; Noreen Maher, Joe Roche, Aidan Buckley and Michael Maher.
